“Justice Road Requiem” Second Movement: Night Rain in the Harbor City / 2024 / Digital Film and Installation / Dimensions variable
計劃緣起自彭弘智購入一間基隆老屋,屋裡保留著七〇年代隔間和吊燈,一張遺照用報紙平整的包覆,下巴處卻被人掀開,還有一台氧氣機。藝術家欲安置此屋靈魂。他決定不用考察調研的方式,而是使用與另一個世界的獨特溝通方法,於創作中建構整個故事場景,將原來在房間的兩盞吊燈做成一個靈魂搖擺的裝置,而在展覽場地看似只有前後擺動的吊燈外,觀眾用手機並可以看到這張報紙遮蓋的照片和這間房子隔間製成的船——聽說屋主是名船員。展覽中期,藝術家將拆除並燒掉這艘船,且在接下來的展期間,連同展場的裝置一起展出燒船的錄像紀錄。
The project “Justice Road Requiem” began when Hung-Chih Peng purchased a house in downtown Keelung. Peng seeks to bring peace to the soul of the house. With the assistance of a spirit medium, the artist discovered that the soul wished to hear the 1950s Taiwanese popular song, Night Rain in the Harbor City. Peng opted for the unique approach to communicate with the spirit world, which helped shape the narrative of his work. During the exhibition, he plans to burn the boat and film the process. This video will be displayed later, alongside other exhibits.
