The Variation of the Inner-Scripture Acrylic on Chinese paper mounted on board, 3D printings 231 x70 x 5cm x 16pc. 2005-2018

After I began to regard the “the Inner-Scripture” as a form of spiritual apprenticeship, learning shifted from visual comprehension toward an embodied and conscious correspondence. It became an invisible teacher. By projecting the diagram onto my own body through intention, and engaging in inner observation and regulated breathing, I guided the circulation of qi along the microcosmic orbit, initiating a quiet, internal practice of perception. Through this process, Daoist inner-alchemy breathing gradually revealed itself, and knowledge transformed into lived experience and awareness.
At first, representation served as my method; yet mere replication could no longer sustain my creative drive. Beginning with the first figure on the left, I introduced variations, turning lines from description into movement, allowing forms to undulate through space like meridians in motion or drifting clouds. As the rhythm accelerated, I released gestures through splashed ink before tracing residual forms, negotiating tension between control and contingency. In breaking the image, I also broke the gaze, so that creation became a simultaneous deconstruction and reconstruction of body and mind.
