1980年代台灣賭博風氣盛行，小型神像也因此大量出現。當它們無法帶來中獎號碼，或無法滿足供奉者對財富與運氣的期待時，有些神像便遭到虐待、丟棄，最後被集中到回收中心。彭弘智將這些落難神像與流浪狗並置：兩者都可能在有用時被珍視，在無法再滿足人的欲望時被拋棄。
在《神明收容所》（2006）中，606尊被遺棄的神像佈滿展場地面，牆上的投影則由一隻狗講述這些神明如何從被膜拜的神聖存在，轉變為遭遺棄之物。作品呈現出一種荒謬而強烈的權力倒置：人原本向神祈求財富與庇佑，最後卻反過來取得懲罰、甚至拋棄神明的權力。
當大量小型神像堆積於地面，它們同時處於神聖圖騰與可拋棄商品之間的不穩定狀態。一方面，它們似乎仍承載著被製造與供奉時所賦予的神聖力量；另一方面，又因信仰的撤離而成為失去價值的物件。作品由此追問：當信仰成為有條件的交換時，神聖性會發生什麼變化？而一個曾被視為神的物件，又如何重新回到「物」的狀態？
Small deity statues became especially widespread in Taiwan during the gambling boom of the 1980s. When they failed to deliver winning numbers or fulfill their owners’ expectations, some were abused, discarded, or eventually gathered in recycling centers. Peng draws a parallel between these abandoned gods and stray dogs—both valued while useful, and cast aside when they cease to satisfy human desire.
In God Pound (2006), 606 abandoned deity statues filled the gallery floor, while a projected dog narrated the story of their transformation from objects of worship into discarded remains. The installation stages a disturbing reversal of power: humans, who once appealed to the gods for fortune and protection, ultimately assume the authority to punish and abandon them.
Accumulated across the floor, the small statues occupy an unstable position between sacred icon and disposable commodity. They appear at once charged with the spiritual power for which they were originally created and stripped of value through abandonment. The work asks what happens to the sacred when belief becomes conditional, and when an object once treated as divine is returned to the status of matter.

四處求神問卜
requesting gods for divinations from all around,
逼明牌算牌支
pressing and calculating composition of numbers for winning.
各地陰廟公墓
Temples of the nether world and public cemeteries from various places,
命案意外現場
scenes from accidental homicides
都成宗教聖地
all became religious sanctuaries,
車水馬龍
loading with heavy traffic,
彷如觀光夜市
resembling to tourist attraction and night market.
報紙雜誌登圖號
Newspaper and magazine published diagrams of number.
市場坊間售明牌
Neighborhood marketplace sold numbers for winning.
就連作夢內容
Even the contents of dream,
精神病患言辭
words from mouth of mental illness patient,
肇事車號日期
license plate from the accident involving car and date of the incident
都成明牌根據
all turn into sources for numbers of winning.
賭博畢竟有輸贏
After all, there were always winning and loosing involved in gambling.
簽中就翻修新廟
Renovating and building temples if drew out winning number,
演戲酬神以資鼓勵
repaying and encouraging gods by celebrating with theater troupes.
槓龜的簽賭者
The failed gamblers
昧生牽拖厝邊
laid the blame of their disappointment on gods.
遷怒神明不準
Condemning gods for being inaccurate.
怪罪神明無能
Blaming gods for being impotence.
為懲處數學不及格
In order to punishing gods for failing in mathematics,
