《法福殉難記》源自巴勒斯坦加薩地區阿克薩電視台（Al-Aqsa TV）的兒童節目《明日前鋒》（Tomorrow’s Pioneers）。節目中的法福（Farfur）外形仿照米老鼠，與一名小女孩共同主持，內容結合宗教教育、政治訊息與 jihad（吉哈德）的觀念，並與對以色列的武裝抵抗敘事連結。法福最後在節目中被一名被塑造成以色列角色的人物毆打致死。

對我而言，有意思的是米老鼠這個美國大眾文化符號，在這裡竟被重新挪用成反美、反以色列的工具。同一個形象因此同時承載彼此衝突的價值與權力關係，形成一種荒謬的錯位。

在作品中，我借用了耶穌受難的身體姿態，替人物戴上法福的頭罩，並讓水從身體幾個帶有滑稽感的位置噴出。宗教殉難、卡通、政治宣傳與娛樂因此被疊合在一起，讓神聖、悲劇與荒謬彼此交錯。

The Martyrdom of Farfur is based on Tomorrow’s Pioneers, a children’s television program broadcast by Al-Aqsa TV in Gaza. Farfur, a character clearly modeled on Mickey Mouse, co-hosted the program with a young girl. The show combined religious education, political messages, and ideas of jihad, linking them to narratives of armed resistance against Israel. In the program, Farfur was eventually beaten to death by a character portrayed as Israeli.

What interests me is the displacement of Mickey Mouse as a cultural symbol. An iconic image of American popular culture is appropriated here as a vehicle for anti-American and anti-Israeli political narratives. The same image comes to carry conflicting values and power relations, creating a deeply absurd contradiction.

In the work, I borrow the bodily pose of the crucified Christ, but replace the head with Farfur’s costume head. Water sprays from several deliberately comic parts of the body into a fountain below. Religious martyrdom, cartoon imagery, political propaganda, and entertainment are layered together, allowing the sacred, the tragic, and the absurd to intersect.
